The Rampal Thermal Power Plant, operated by the Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL), has set a new national record by generating 700 million units of electricity in November—the highest monthly production of any power plant in the country so far.
In a statement on Monday, BIFPCL Deputy General Manager Anwarul Azim said the plant supplied 11.5 percent of the country’s total electricity demand throughout the month . According to him, this success is the result of “advanced industrial efficiency, well-regulated coal management and financial planning.”
Rampal Center officials say that similar resource management and operational policies will be followed in the future to maintain continuity of production.
