The price of gold has increased again in the domestic market. According to the new adjustment, a 22-carat gold bar is now worth Tk 2,10,570, which is Tk 2,403 more than before.
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced the price hike in a notification on Saturday night. The prices have come into effect from Sunday.
Bajus said that the new price of gold has been set due to the increase in the price of gold in the local market.
New price list
22 carats: 2,10,570 taka
21 carats: 2,01,006 taka
18 carat: 1,72,289 taka
Traditional method: 1,43,327 taka
Bajus said that the selling price of gold will be subject to the government-set 5% VAT and the organization’s set 6% minimum wage. The wage may vary depending on the design.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged. A 22-carat silver bar has been fixed at Tk 4,246.
