BNP’s Dhaka-6 constituency candidate Engineer Ishraq Hossain has claimed that security complications are the main obstacle to the return of acting chairman Tarique Rahman to the country. He made the remarks during a public meeting in various areas of Kotwali on Saturday afternoon.
Ishraq said Tarique Rahman has now become not just the leader of BNP, but an important political figure in South Asia. The country needs his leadership to overcome the current situation, and that is why his security is being given utmost importance.
He alleged that ‘Sheikh Hasina fugitive friends’ are spreading derogatory comments out of jealousy over Tarique Rahman’s popularity.
Ishraq further warned that the situation in the country is very sensitive now; trying to create division will not have a good outcome.
