BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is ‘extremely critical’, said the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Participating in prayers and supplications for Khaleda Zia’s recovery in the capital’s Naya Paltan on Friday, he said, “Khaleda Zia has struggled for democracy, been imprisoned, and been tortured in her long political life. She has been undergoing treatment in the hospital for two days due to her recent illness, and according to doctors, her condition is serious.”
Mirza Fakhrul said that prayers have been organized across the country for Khaleda Zia’s recovery by the party, and prayers are also being offered in local mosques. After Friday prayers at the Nayapaltan mosque, leaders also prayed for her recovery.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and other central leaders were present at the event.
