Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is being kept in “complete isolation” on purpose, his younger son Qasim Khan has alleged. In a statement published in X, he claimed that no one in the family is being allowed to meet him, and they are not even getting proof that he is alive.
Qasim, who lives in the UK and is out of active politics, said Imran Khan has been in prison for 845 days , and has been kept in solitary confinement on death row for the past six weeks . He alleged that his family has been denied visitation rights despite court orders. “No phone calls, no visits — we don’t even know if he is alive,” Qasim wrote.
Former cricket star Imran Khan is currently in prison after being convicted in various corruption cases. His ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith and two sons have long lived in the UK and are far from Pakistani politics.
Qasim warned that the Pakistani government and its “handlers” would be held legally, morally and internationally responsible for any incident involving Imran Khan’s security . He called on the international community and human rights groups to urgently intervene – to ensure evidence of Imran’s survival, to restore court-ordered visits, and to demand the release of Pakistan’s most popular leader, who is being held “on political grounds”.
