Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay left Dhaka on Monday morning, concluding his three-day official visit. He was seen off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain, with the Commerce Adviser and Foreign Secretary also present.
Upon his arrival on Saturday, the Chief Adviser welcomed Tobgay and accorded him a guard of honor. The Bhutanese leader later visited the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, paid tribute to the fallen heroes, and planted a sapling. He also met President Mohammed Shahabuddin, as well as foreign and commerce advisers.
During his meeting with the Chief Adviser, both sides reviewed the overall progress of bilateral ties. A joint statement noted that trade, connectivity, economic cooperation, and people-to-people engagement were identified as priority areas for deeper collaboration.
