The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) recorded two separate earthquakes on Saturday—one in Saudi Arabia and the other in Iraq.
According to SGS, a 3.43-magnitude quake was detected about 86 kilometers northwest of Harrat Al-Shaqa, located between Al-Ais in Madinah and Umluj in the Tabuk region. The area is known as one of Saudi Arabia’s major volcanic fields.
SGS also reported a 5.09-magnitude earthquake in Iraq. So far, no major damage or casualties have been reported in either location.
