A minibus parked on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, caught fire and was completely destroyed. The incident occurred in front of the Road Division office in Shimrail area at around 6 am on Saturday (November 15).
Officer-in-Charge of Siddhirganj Police Station (OC Shahinur Alam) said that the driver left the Naf Paribahan minibus on the highway at around 10 pm on Friday. The bus remained there all night. In the morning, locals saw smoke coming from the bus and informed the police and fire service.
Upon receiving the information, a fire service team arrived and quickly brought the fire under control. However, by then all the seats, glass and other equipment inside the bus were completely damaged.
OC Shahinur Alam also said, “It has not yet been confirmed whether the fire was planned or due to a mechanical defect. The matter is under investigation.
