A fire broke out in a moving microbus in Uttara, Dhaka, on Wednesday morning. Two units of the Fire Service quickly arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control.
The incident occurred around 7:18 a.m. on November 12 on Jasim Uddin Road in Uttara.
According to Fire Service duty officer Rafi Al Faruq, the fire is believed to have originated due to an engine overheating issue. No casualties were reported in the incident.
He added that the fire may also have been caused by a faulty engine or an electrical short circuit. The front portion of the microbus was damaged in the fire.
Bimanbandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Taslima Akter confirmed, “This was not an act of sabotage. The fire started when a mechanical fault occurred while the vehicle was moving. The driver parked the vehicle on the roadside and safely moved away.
