Two passenger buses were set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Merul Badda and Shahjadpur areas of the capital early Monday. The motive and identity of those responsible are yet to be confirmed.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the incidents occurred early in the morning. Upon receiving information, four fire service units rushed to the spots and brought the fires under control.
Rashed Bin Khalid, the duty officer of the Fire Service control room, said, “We received reports around 5:40 a.m. about two buses being set on fire in Merul Badda and Shahjadpur. Our units quickly reached the scenes and extinguished the flames.”
He added that the cause of the fires is still unknown and investigations are underway. No casualties have been reported so far.
