Nearly a month and a half after the death of Bollywood and Assamese music legend Zubeen Garg, his final film “Roi Roi Binale” has been released in theaters. Fans flocked to cinema halls to see their beloved artist on the big screen one last time.
The film was released across Assam on Friday, October 31, and it was known to be Zubeen’s dream project. Both the story and music of the film were created by Zubeen himself. He played the role of a blind artist in the movie.
The release sparked an overwhelming response from audiences. On the very first day, all tickets in 90 theaters across the state were sold out in advance. The film is now being screened in 46 cities across India, including Assam.
Cinema halls have been witnessing massive crowds, prompting theater owners to introduce special early morning (6 AM) and midnight (12 AM) shows to meet the demand.
In memory of the late singer, Assam Pradesh Congress President Gaurav Gogoi has urged the state government to make the film tax-free. Moreover, all GST proceeds from the film will be donated to the “Kalaguru Artist Foundation.”
Many admirers view Roi Roi Binale as a symbolic reflection of Zubeen Garg’s artistic legacy — a lasting echo of a musician’s life, melody, and dreams.
