At the Airport Railway Station in Dhaka, the Bangladesh Army seized a large cache of firearms from the Bonolota Express train. Four suspects have been handed over to the police for preliminary questioning.
The operation took place on Sunday (26 October) at 11:15 a.m., led by the Bangladesh Army in coordination with intelligence agencies and railway police. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the searched carriage yielded 8 foreign pistols, 16 magazines, 26 rounds of ammunition, 2.39 kg of gunpowder, and 2.23 kg of plastic explosives.
Dhaka District Railway Police Superintendent Anwar Hossain stated that the operation, named “Operation Bonolota,” was conducted by an army team. However, the exact details of the recovered weapons and ammunition have not yet been disclosed.
