On Saturday (18 October) afternoon, a fire broke out in a section of the Cargo Village at Shahjalal International Airport. The Cargo Village stores imported goods in this area.
Lima Khanam, Duty Officer at the Fire Service Control Room, confirmed that four units of the Fire Service are working to control the fire.
Md. Masudul Hasan Masud, spokesperson for the airport’s Executive Director, stated that the Fire Service, Bangladesh Air Force, and airport authorities are working to bring the fire under control. He also confirmed that flight operations at the airport remain normal despite the incident.
