Dhallywood legend and founder of “Safe Roads Now” (Nirapad Sôrok Chai), Ilias Kanchan, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The news was made public at the end of last month by his son, Miraj Moin Joy. Since then, both fellow artists and fans have expressed deep concern for the veteran actor.
Actress Rozina, a long-time colleague of Kanchan, recently traveled to London to visit him. Meanwhile, top Dhallywood actor Shakib Khan took to social media to express his heartfelt wishes for Kanchan’s speedy recovery.
In his post, Shakib Khan wrote: “Ilias Kanchan is our beloved and respected elder brother, whose life is a symbol of activism and a journey of light. On the silver screen, he is a beloved hero; in real life, he is a soldier of humanity. Kanchan Bhai is currently undergoing treatment in London, fighting a silent battle. Millions of people across the country are praying for him, hoping he returns as energetic, cheerful, and inspiring as ever. We pray to Almighty Allah for his swift recovery. We all stand by Kanchan Bhai with love and prayers.”
Ilias Kanchan is currently receiving treatment at Harley Street Clinic in London under the supervision of oncologist Dr. Vinayar. He underwent brain surgery in August and is presently undergoing targeted therapy.
