To facilitate smooth Hajj arrangements, the central bank of Bangladesh has instructed that banks remain open on Saturday, October 11. The circular directs relevant bank branches to ensure adequate security while remaining operational for Hajj-related transactions.
On Monday, the Department of Off-Site Supervision of Bangladesh Bank issued the circular to the CEOs of commercial banks. It stated that banks must stay open to allow Hajj applicants to deposit their funds. Additionally, banks are instructed to make necessary arrangements to serve applicants even after regular banking hours until October 12.
Earlier, the preliminary registration for Hajj 2026 began on July 27 and will continue until October 12. Interested applicants must deposit BDT 3.5 lakh to complete preliminary registration. Next year, a total of 127,198 Bangladeshis will be able to perform Hajj.
