The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested BM Mozammel Haque, Organizing Secretary of the banned Awami League Central Executive Committee and former Member of Parliament for Shariatpur-1 constituency.
On Sunday (October 5) around 2:45 pm, a DB team from the Gulshan division conducted a raid in the Niketan area of the capital based on secret information and detained him.
Deputy Commissioner of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed the arrest. He stated that Mozammel Haque faces eight cases in Dhaka, including one related to the anti-discrimination student movement murder case.
Law enforcement authorities said that legal proceedings are currently underway against him.
