Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain, Adviser on Religion to the Caretaker Government, has stated that the upcoming election in the country will be held during the day, not at night. Speaking at the 246th founding anniversary of Government Madrasah-e-Alia on Wednesday (October 1), he said, “After 54 years, the opportunity to establish people’s rights through the blood of students has come. This opportunity must not be wasted in any way.”
The adviser spoke about the history and contribution of madrasas, noting that Madrasah-e-Alia, with its 250-year history, has played an important role in shaping society and the state. However, he expressed concern that under the guise of modern education, many madrasas are moving away from the core teachings of the Quran, Hadith, and Arabic.
He also mentioned that international universities are prepared to offer scholarships to madrasa students.
Regarding student politics, Dr. Khalid Hossain said that he has never favored student politics. Unlike Bangladesh, neighboring countries and Europe do not have student politics, and political figures in Bangladesh are using student leaders for their own interests.
