In Guimara Upazila of Khagrachhari district, three people were killed in an attack by miscreants. The incident also left 13 army personnel, three police officers, and several others injured.
On Sunday evening, the Ministry of Home Affairs expressed deep sorrow over the incident and stated that legal action will be taken after a thorough investigation. No offender will be spared.
Khagrachhari Civil Surgeon Mohammad Shaber said the bodies of the deceased have been kept at Khagrachhari Hospital, though their identities have not yet been confirmed. The army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and police are jointly working to control the situation. With Section 144 imposed in the district headquarters and municipality, the area remains tense and quiet.
On Sunday afternoon, during clashes at Ramsu Market in Guimara, a fire broke out. Several shops in the market were burned, and nearby houses were also damaged. Videos and photos of the fire circulated on social media. Earlier, the “Jumma Chhatra Jonota” had blocked roads in the same area under Section 144.
