On the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus extended his greetings to the country’s Hindu community and emphasized that in order to successfully build a prosperous Bangladesh free from inequality and corruption—a journey that began with the July uprising—everyone must work together, putting aside religious and ethnic differences. He stated that defeating all evil and unjust forces will lead to the victory of positive values, and Bangladesh will move forward on the path of welfare and prosperity.
Dr. Yunus noted that Sharadiya Durga Puja is the principal religious festival of the Hindu community. The worship of Goddess Durga symbolizes the welfare of humanity and the destruction of evil. He highlighted that the festival further strengthens Bangladesh’s unique tradition of communal harmony and expressed hope that this year’s Durga Puja will be celebrated peacefully across the country.
He also emphasized that peace, friendship, and equality are the core principles of all religions. Therefore, alongside practicing one’s own faith properly, people must maintain mutual respect, honor, and compassion to create an environment of social harmony and peace.
