The upcoming Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election has set the stage for a competitive race. Ahead of the polls scheduled for October 6, the nomination submission process was held on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla premises from morning to evening. A total of 60 candidates filed their nominations across three categories.
From Category-1 (districts and divisions), 25 candidates submitted nominations; from Category-2 (Dhaka clubs), 32 candidates; and from Category-3 (universities and organizations), 3 candidates. Notable names include former national captain Tamim Iqbal, Aminul Islam Bulbul, former wicketkeeper-batter Khaled Masud Pilot, former selector Faruk Ahmed, and current BCB director Iftekhar Rahman Mithu.
As per the BCB constitution, 23 directors will be elected from the three categories. Along with two nominees from the National Sports Council, the board will be formed with 25 members. The elected directors will later vote to select the BCB President.
