Nurul Haque Nur, president of Gano Adhikar Parishad, has been released from Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital. On Monday (15 September) around 4:45 pm, he left the hospital in an ambulance.
DMCH Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter, saying Nur was discharged as his physical condition improved, following the decision of the medical board. Earlier, he had been under close observation by a specially formed 10-member board, receiving intensive treatment before being shifted to a VIP cabin and eventually released today.
It may be recalled that on 29 August, at Bijoynagar in the capital, clashes broke out between activists of the Jatiya Party and Gano Adhikar Parishad. At least 50 people, including Nurul Haque Nur and the party’s General Secretary Rashed Khan, were injured when law enforcers intervened with force. Nur, who was critically injured, was first taken to Islami Bank Hospital and later transferred to Dhaka Medical.
