BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that through irregularities and fraud, the university authorities have ensured the victory of a particular organization in the Daksu and Jaksu elections.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of DEB at the Diploma Engineers Institute in Kakrail, Dhaka, on Sunday afternoon, Rizvi said that with the collusion of some influential figures in the government, the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University deliberately engineered a one-sided result. He also raised questions over why the Jaksu election ballot papers were printed at an institution linked to a political party.
Rizvi further alleged that in different areas, Awami League leaders and activists involved in repression are now joining Jamaat. He expressed concern that a deep blueprint is underway to suppress nationalist forces.
He claimed that the forces rising in the country pose a grave threat to democracy and religious-minded people. Rizvi also remarked that a large section of the government is patronizing Jamaat.
