The total number of voters in Bangladesh now stands at 126,307,504, according to the latest updated list published by the Election Commission (EC). Among them, 64,100,455 are men, 62,205,819 are women, and 1,230 are third-gender voters. The number of male voters is about 1.9 million higher than female voters.
On Sunday, EC Secretary Md. Akhtar Ahmed disclosed the updated figures at his office in Agargaon, Dhaka. He said that this year alone, 4,708,858 new voters have been added to the electoral roll.
As of March 2, the number of voters was about 123.7 million. Following fresh inclusion of eligible voters, the updated list was published on August 31.
The EC Secretary further informed that, due to amendments in the voter list law, anyone who turns 18 by October 31 will also be registered before the next general election, which means the final voter count will increase further.
According to the announced schedule, the next national parliamentary election is set to be held in the first half of February 2026.
