  • Towhid Hridoy has created a new history in Test cricket for Bangladesh. He broke the record for the highest individual run score in an innings for the country with his brilliant batting in the Sylhet Test against the West Indies. With this, Hridoy broke the long-standing record of veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim.

Previously, the record for the highest score in a Test innings for Bangladesh was held by Mushfiqur Rahim. He played a remarkable innings of 219 not out against Zimbabwe in Mirpur in 2018. This record remained intact for a long eight years.

However, this time, Hridoy surpassed that record with the bat in the Sylhet Test against the West Indies. He faced the opponent’s bowlers with confident batting from the start. The right-handed batsman surpassed Mushfiqur’s record at one stage by advancing the innings with patience and skill.

According to the latest information, Hridoy’s personal collection stands at 223 runs. On the other hand, Bangladesh’s team collection is 362 runs. West Indies are leading by 6 runs in the first innings.

With this, Towhid Hridoy became the owner of the highest individual innings in Bangladesh’s Test history. He broke Mushfiqur Rahim’s record and created a new milestone in the country’s cricket.
