Reception for Scholarship-Winning Students of Gazipur KG School Association

  • Over 900 meritorious students from 56 schools, who passed the scholarship examination and secured scholarships, were felicitated under the initiative of the Gazipur KG School Association (Kashimpur Metro Police Station area).

    The reception ceremony was held on Saturday afternoon (October 3) at the grounds of Hatimara High School and College in the Kashimpur Police Station area of ​​Gazipur Metropolitan City. Scholarship-winning students, teachers, guardians, and leaders of the association participated in the event.

    Presided over by Azizul Islam Manu, President of the Gazipur KG School Association, the event featured a speech by the chief guest, Mehnaz Sarkar Shilpi—Managing Director of Kashimpur Girls’ High School and College, President of Hatimara High School and College, and Advisor to the Gazipur KG School Association.

    Special guests who spoke at the event included Dr. Abdul Mottalib Mia, Acting Principal of Hatimara High School and College, and Md. Abdul Mannan, Principal of Kashimpur High School and College.

    The event was inaugurated by K. M. Hafizur Rahman Raju, Joint Convener of the Gazipur Metropolitan Jubo Dal and Member Secretary of the Kashimpur Metro Police Station Jubo Dal.

    Md. Raunak Uddin, General Secretary of the Gazipur KG School Association, served as the keynote speaker.

    Other speakers included Md. Masudur Rahman Siddiqui (President, Pubail Metro Police Station unit), Md. Akhtar-uz-Zaman (President, Konabari Metro Police Station unit), and Md. Saiful Islam (President, Sadar Metro Police Station unit).

    Distinguished guests present included Md. Tahajuddin Molla (President, Ward No. 3 BNP, Gazipur City Corporation), Md. Hashem Reza (General Secretary), and Liza Khandaker Lucky (Senior Vice-President, Gazipur KG School Association).

    Additionally, invited guests who spoke included Mohammad Anwar Hossain Master (General Secretary, Konabari Metro Police Station unit) and Md. Harun-or-Rashid (General Secretary, Sadar Metro Police Station unit), along with other leaders of the association. The event was moderated by Md. Jahangir Alam, Organizing Secretary of the Kashimpur Metro Police Station unit, along with Md. Mostafa Kamal and Md. Ashrafuzzaman, the General Secretaries of Ward No. 3 and Ward No. 6 of the association, respectively.

    In her address, the chief guest, Mehnaz Sarkar Shilpi, spoke to the teachers present, emphasizing their responsibility to mold the children into well-rounded human beings. She acknowledged the tireless efforts made by the administrators and teachers of private institutions toward their development. She noted that the existing number of primary schools is insufficient to accommodate the student population; consequently, private institutions have emerged to fill this gap. She commended the entrepreneurs who established these schools for taking timely and necessary initiatives, noting that without them, many students would have lacked educational opportunities.

    She further addressed the mothers present, urging them to remain vigilant regarding their children’s well-being and education until their studies are complete, ensuring they do not stray onto the wrong path. She remarked that if children are raised to be educated and upright individuals, they will contribute to building an educated nation.

    The speakers highlighted the importance of events such as scholarship awards and receptions in fostering the intellectual and creative growth of children and adolescents, as well as in boosting their enthusiasm for education. They emphasized the need to prioritize the development of moral values, creativity, and leadership qualities alongside textbook-based learning.
    They added that recognizing and encouraging students’ merit enables them to play a significant role in the future development of their families, society, and the country. Such events foster a spirit of healthy competition among students and inspire them to achieve academic excellence.

    In the concluding segment of the event, certificates and honors were awarded to the meritorious students who received scholarships, creating a festive atmosphere among the students, teachers, and guardians. The organizers expressed their commitment to continuing such activities in the future to foster the merit and talent of students.
