Election Commissioner (EC) Abul Fazl Md. and Sanaullah. The Election Commission has yet to set the final date of the election.
He said this while talking to reporters after an inter-ministerial meeting at the conference room of the Election Commission Secretariat on Thursday afternoon.
EC Sanaullah said the possible schedule of the UP election may be changed considering various examinations and important national programmes. Elections can also be reduced. However, it is mandatory to end the union council elections by June 6th next year.
He said the Election Commission will take this seriously so that no examination or activities of students are disrupted due to the vote. There are various tests in November and December. There is a comparative time in January, but there is a fasting at that time. As a result, the election time has to be determined in coordination.
The Election Commission said the commission would discuss the issue further. The final date of the election will be fixed at the commission meeting. The voting date will be announced as soon as possible.
