Five more people died of dengue, 1,484 hospitalized

  • Dengue fever is continuing in the country. Five more people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours. At the same time, thousands of new patients have been admitted to different hospitals in the country.

    This information was given in the regular dengue notification sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (September 17th).

    According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the highest number of new patients admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours is in Khulna division. After that, 227 patients were admitted to Dhaka South City Corporation, 207 to Dhaka North City Corporation, 211 in Barisal Division, 192 in Chittagong Division and 190 to Dhaka Division (outside the city corporation).

    Besides, 102 people were admitted to Rajshahi division, 64 in Mymensingh division, 35 in Rangpur division and four in Sylhet division.

    The death toll from dengue has risen to 176 this year with the death of five new people. At the same time, as a large number of patients are admitted to the hospital every day, the health sector is concerned about the dengue situation.
