  • Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has assured that gas and power supply will be provided in the country’s industries and factories from Tuesday (September 15th) night.
The FBCCI Administrator said this after a three-hour meeting with representatives of twenty-one business organisations at the Secretariat on Monday. Fazlul Haque.

Fazlul Haque said the prime minister has assured that it will be possible to recover the gas and electricity supply in the industries and factories from Tuesday night after the new crisis. According to him, this is the biggest achievement and relief of the meeting.

He said the meeting also outlined a detailed outline on how to meet the need for increased gas and electricity needed not only to solve the ongoing crisis, but also to meet the need for increased gas and electricity needed to implement the new investment in the future. The two-hour meeting was delayed for about three hours.

Mahdi Amin, a spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, said the meeting discussed in detail the important issues, including electricity, gas, energy and mineral resources, for job growth and industrialization. The state minister for power and energy has presented two, five and ten-year short, medium and long-term plans of the government through presentation of power points.

Highlighting the government’s plan for gas supply, Mahdi Amin said the pressure on gas supply has been created due to the dependence on the two FSRUs. One of them was ruined for a long time. The present government plans to repair it as well as increase the number of FSRU in the future.

Initially, three and two more are combined with a total of five FSRUs. He said efforts are being made to add the third FSRU to the system before the start of 2028. Representatives of FBCCI, ICCB, BGMEA, BKMEA, BTMA and BTMS participated in the meeting. The commerce minister and the prime minister’s finance adviser were also present.
