He said about twenty-eight percent of the country’s population is young. If these young people donate blood regularly at least once a year, there will never be a lack of blood in Bangladesh.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the voluntary blood donor ceremony organised by the voluntary organization ‘Quantum Foundation’ at the IDEB building in the capital on Tuesday (September 8th) evening. They were encouraged to conferred with honor certificates, crests and medals to more than three hundred donated blood at least 3, 10, 25 and 50 times.
Speaking as the chief guest, the DU vice chancellor also said that the voluntary blood donors are mainly pioneers of building a humanitarian Bangladesh. In the field of building a new Bangladesh, such an honour organizer creates a special occasion of new ideas. Mentioning that the contribution of blood donors will be written in gold in the history of the country, he said patriotism is not just a matter of passion or slogan; it is the real expression of patriotism to do it honestly and stand by the weak and helpless people.

Rezaul Hasan 51-time platinum blood donor Kazi Hasan Ali and 26-time golden blood donor Rezeka Sultana highlighted their experiences and human feelings of blood donation. Masuma Hossain Tanni, a regular blood recipient suffering from thalassemia, expressed her gratitude to the blood donors.
The speakers highlighted the long-standing humanitarian activities of the Quantum Lab. From August 2006 to August 2026 with more than five and a half million donor pools, the Quantum Lab has supplied blood and blood components to save the lives of more than 18 million people.
