
Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain has said that a special measles vaccination campaign will start across the country by the end of September.
He said this while exchanging views with the doctors and officials while visiting Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital on Friday (September 4th) morning.
The health minister said the government has already ensured the supply of adequate measles vaccine. The first phase of vaccination activities have been completed in other districts of the country except for the hill districts of Rangamati and Bandarban.
Highlighting the progress of the health sector, the minister said there has been a visible change in the health care system since the government took office. He has visited more than twenty-five hospitals in the country in the last six months. During this time, the quality of medical services in the hospitals has increased and the presence of doctors has also been ensured.
The minister also talked about the management, drainage and cleanliness of Osmani Medical College Hospital. He said that in the next seven working days, the timely attendance and duty of the doctors in the hospital will be ensured. If there is any problem of drainage and cleaning, it has been instructed to resolve it within seven days.
During the visit, the minister visited various departments of the hospital and sought medical care, facilities and overall activities of the patients.
Stressing the need for taking necessary steps to ensure quality treatment of patients, he discussed with the concerned authorities on various problems of the hospital, infrastructure development and improvement of medical care.
