
Professor Mobasher Monem has resigned from the post of chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) due to physical illness. He submitted his resignation on Tuesday (August 18th).
PSC public relations officer SM Matiur Rahman confirmed the matter, saying the chairman resigned due to physical illness.
The President’s Office Secretary Md. Shahriar Rahman said Professor Mobashar Monem is currently resting.
The professor of public administration at Dhaka University was appointed as the chairman of the PSC during the interim government in October 2024.
Earlier, after the political change of the year 2024, the then PSC chairman Md. Twelve members of the commission, including Sohrab Hossain, resigned. Professor Mobasher Monem was appointed as the chairman of the PSC.
