The government has suspended six officers of the Bangladesh Police from their jobs. The suspended officers are police officer Biplob Kumar Sarkar and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Golam Ruhani.
The decision was taken on Wednesday (August 12th) in a separate notification from the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The six suspended officers are:
Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar at Barisal Range DIG Office
Joint Commissioner Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty at the same office
Superintendent of Khulna Range DIG office Md. Iqbal Hossain
Additional Superintendent of Police of 8 Armed Police Battalion (APBN) Rajan Kumar Das
DMP Assistant Police Commissioner Golam Ruhani
Chittagong Range DIG Office Deputy Police Commissioner Kazi Ashraful Azim
According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, these officers have been dismissed from their jobs by the powers given under the relevant section of the Government Jobs Act, 2018.
On the same day, the decision to sack six officials after a major reshuffle of senior police officials has sparked fresh discussion in the administration.
