
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has also taken to the field on holiday with the aim of making the capital a clean city. On Friday afternoon, he drove his own car and inspected the cleanliness activities of Dhaka North City Corporation.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Rony said the prime minister visited different areas of the capital for about two and a half hours after leaving her Gulshan residence at 4pm. His car crashed into the Shyamoli area at 6pm.
During the visit, he observed the cleanliness and overall condition of various important roads in Dhaka North, including Shyamoli, Vijay Sarani, Rokeya Sarani, Mirpur-10, Kachukhet and Sheorapara.
The deputy press secretary said the prime minister has repeatedly called the capital Dhaka a ‘clean city’. To this end, he is inspecting the cleanliness and urban management of the road on the ground.
State minister for local government Shahe Alam, Dhaka North City Corporation administrator Shafiqul Islam Milton, BNP special secretary Belayet Hossain, prime minister’s private secretary Mehedul Islam and assistant private secretary Abdur Rahman Sani were present in the car.
After the visit, the prime minister returned to her Gulshan residence during Maghrib prayers.
