The Karoch Janata Party (CJP) has announced the withdrawal of the ongoing movement in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar following the resignation of Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The party’s leaders made the announcement at a joint press conference on Saturday (July 25th) evening and urged the protesters to return home peacefully.
The CJP said the resignation of the education minister was their main demand. The movement was withdrawn as part of the ‘will’ of the government to accept other demands.
CJP spokesperson Sourab Das and Ashutosh Ranka, along with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, were present at the press conference.
The CJP claimed that the government has agreed to withdraw the police cases against the students, not to harass them in the future and the families of the students who committed suicide in the case of net question paper leakage.
The group urged the protesters to leave the protest site and return to their homes peacefully after the demands, following a 36-day protest.
