Ahsan Habib, a member of the tax administration department, has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Earlier, he served in various important posts including the director general of the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the NBR.

A senior source confirmed this on Monday (June 29).
Ahsan Habib has been performing important duties in the National Board of Revenue for a long time. He is currently serving as a member of the NBR’s tax administration and human resources management department.
Earlier, he served as the director general of the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the NBR. The participants believe that his role in preventing tax evasion, increasing revenue collection and modernizing the tax administration is significant.
In addition to his professional duties, he is also currently the president of the BCS Taxation Association.
It is expected that through his appointment, there will be a new pace in the administrative activities of the NBR, the collection of revenue and tax management.
