Ships will run without tolls in the Strait of Hormuz, as part of the agreement to fund Iran’s reorganization

  • The United States has said it will not impose any toll on international ships operating through Strait of Hormuz under the new peace deal between Iran and the United States.

According to U.S. officials, if Iran meets the terms of the deal, a special fund of about $300 billion could be set up for the country’s restructuring and economic recovery. However, the money will not be released until Iran fulfills its promises.

President of the United States Donald Trump, Vice President J. D. Vance and the speaker of Iran’s parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) electronically.

J.D. Vance said the agreement was a short document of just one and a half pages, with the basic principles of stopping the war, easing tensions and maintaining peace. The next step will be discussed in detail on the nuclear program and other important issues.

He added that the United States and international nuclear experts could be allowed to enter the country to destroy Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium and oversee the related activities.

The expert-level discussion is scheduled to be held this week to finalize various technical and implementation issues of the agreement. The agreement is officially signed in Geneva.

However, in the case of such agreements, signatures, funds or implementation information, it is necessary to confirm the official announcement of the countries concerned and the internationally verified information.
