The preparations for the rape and murder case of child Ramisa have been completed in the capital’s Pallabi. The hearing of this sensitive case can start any day as the paperbook of the case is ready in the High Court.
Attorney General Ruhul Quddus Kajol confirmed the matter on Tuesday (June 16th).
The trial court sentenced Sohel Rana and his wife to death in just nine days in connection with the rape and murder of a second-grade student in Pallabi. Later, the full document was sent to the death reference branch of the High Court on June 9th for approval of the verdict and it was registered as a death reference.
Then on June 11th, the accused filed separate jail appeals through the jail authorities. On June 14, Justice Muhammad Ali and Justice Md. An HC bench comprising Saiful Islam passed the order for two hearings. Later, the case was presented to the special bench of Justice Bhishmadev Chakraborty and Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Raza.
Finally, the High Court has prepared a paperbook on a priority basis for hearing the death reference and jail appeal of the accused. The hearing of the case is likely to start soon.
