Newly appointed High Commissioner of India Dinesh Trivedi has sent a message to strengthen the relations between the two countries for the first time since assuming office in Bangladesh.
On Friday, when entering Bangladesh through the Benapole-Petrapole land port, he said that considering the people of India’s 140 crores and 20 crore people of Bangladesh together, a huge manpower of 160 crores can be created in the world, which could become an important power in the world.
Talking to the media, he said that not only the strength of one country, but also the joint power of Bangladesh and India will be the real power. To present this power to the world, cooperation, mutual trust and partnership between the two countries need to be further enhanced.
Dinesh Trivedi said that joint ventures can be taken in sports, health, technology and other important sectors for future generations using the talents, skills and resources of the two countries. He hoped that the increase in cooperation in these areas would benefit the people of both countries.
Responding to a question on pushin, travel and trade restrictions along the border, he said Bangladesh and India share common air conditions. Any such good move for the two countries will be considered in the future.
He was received by the Home Ministry, the Indian High Commission and Benapole land port officials on his arrival in Bangladesh. He was accompanied by his wife, Mrinal Trivedi.
In April, the Indian government appointed former Union Railway Minister and BJP leader Dinesh Trivedi as the new High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh. This is the first time in the diplomatic history of the two countries that a politician has been appointed as the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh. He has been replaced by Prana Verma.
