Ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Additional IGP Md. Ahsan Habib Palash said that no specific threat of sabotage has been received in the country so far. However, he also said that the force has been kept at maximum readiness to deal with any possible situation.
He made the remarks while talking to reporters after inspecting the security arrangements made for the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah Maidan in the capital on Tuesday.
The RAB Director General said, “No specific security threat has been found so far regarding the holy Eid-ul-Azha. Even so, RAB is on the highest alert to deal with any unwanted situation.”
He said that security has been beefed up at important places across the country, including the capital, on the occasion of Eid. Mobile checkposts have been set up, vehicle searches, robust patrolling and intelligence surveillance have been increased.
