Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Prannoy Verma said that discussions have been held with Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and State Minister Shama Obaid regarding the resumption of India’s visa program for Bangladeshis .
After a courtesy call on Sunday (February 22) afternoon, he told reporters that the meeting emphasized the importance of making Dhaka-Delhi relations more people-centric, an important part of which is visa activities.
Prannoy Verma said that during the meeting, he reiterated India’s position that Delhi is keen to strengthen positive and forward-looking cooperation with the new government in Bangladesh based on mutual interests and benefits. “We want to work together to enhance people-centric cooperation in all areas,” he said.
