Tasneem Zara, the senior joint member secretary of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has resigned from the party. She announced the decision in a statement on her verified Facebook account on Saturday (December 27).
In a statement, Tasneem Zara said, “As a child of Khilgaon, serving the people of the area is her lifelong goal. Although she plans to serve the country as a member of parliament, in the current political reality, she will not participate in the election as a candidate of any party or alliance. Rather, she will enter the field as an independent candidate to uphold the promise of a new political culture.”
She said that as an independent candidate, she will not have a party office or organized workforce. “As your daughter, my only strength is you,” she wrote, seeking the public’s support for her honesty and integrity.
According to the election rules, to become an independent candidate in Dhaka-9 constituency, signatures of 4,693 voters are required. He said that the collection of signatures will start from Sunday and sought the cooperation of the local people.
In addition, Tasnim Zara, respecting those who previously supported her as a party candidate and donated to the election fund, said that if anyone wants, they can get their money back through the prescribed process. The donation will be returned after verifying the transaction ID.
