BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is in serious health risk and is currently going through a critical period. This information was given by Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, a member of the medical board formed for her treatment and a member of the BNP standing committee, in a brief briefing in front of Evercare Hospital in the capital at around 12:30 am on Saturday (December 27).
Dr. Zahid said there was no way to say that Khaleda Zia’s physical condition had improved. “Her condition is very critical. She is still at risk,” he said.
The doctor said that Khaleda Zia’s physical condition deteriorated since she was admitted to the hospital on November 23. As her condition deteriorated, she was transferred from the cabin to the CCU and later to the ICU. A team of local and foreign specialist doctors is continuing her treatment, in which her daughter-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahman is also involved.
Khaleda Zia’s son Tarique Rahman went to the hospital to see her on Saturday night. He left the hospital at 11:58 pm after staying for about two hours.
Khaleda Zia is suffering from diabetes, kidney, heart and lung complications. Although there is talk of taking her abroad for advanced treatment, her treatment is currently continuing in the country as her physical condition is not suitable for air travel.
