The capital’s Shahbagh has been in turmoil for the second day demanding justice for the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. The organization warned the government on Saturday (December 27) that it may plan to surround the chief advisor’s residence on Jamuna and the National Assembly building at any time if justice is not ensured.
Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of the Inqilab Manch, said at the sit-in program in Shahbagh that no one will be given a ‘safe exit’ until justice is served in the Hadi murder case. In his words, the protesters will not leave the streets until justice is served.
At the rally, students and the public chanted slogans demanding the arrest of the murderers and the identification of the planners behind the murder. The protesters alleged that the government is delaying the trial process, which is tantamount to betrayal of the blood of the martyrs.
In a stern message to the government’s advisors, Abdullah Al Jaber said that those who think they can leave the country without any problems while in power are wrong. “If you betray blood, the people will judge you on this soil,” he said.
He further said that the government, which came to power on the blood of nearly 1,400 martyrs, has failed to ensure justice for the murder. Calling for the disclosure of those who are obstructing the trial process for Hadi’s murder, he said that if justice is not done, the government itself will have to face accountability.
