The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum. In his address to the nation on Thursday, Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin said that continuous voting will be held from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on February 12. This time, the voting time has been extended by one hour compared to the previous one.
According to the schedule, the last date for filing nominations is December 29, and the scrutiny will continue from December 30 to January 4. The last day for withdrawal of candidacy is January 20. The symbol will be allotted the next day, January 21, and the formal campaign will begin from January 22.
The CEC said that an accurate voter list has been prepared and a postal voting system has been implemented to make the election “fair and acceptable.”
This time, the ballots for the parliamentary elections will be in black and white, and the ballots for the referendum will be pink. For the first time in the country’s history, a national election and a referendum are going to be held on the same day.
