A night-long clash on Saturday along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border has resulted in the deaths of more than 200 Afghan Taliban fighters, according to Pakistan. During the conflict, 23 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 29 others injured in attacks by Afghan forces.
The Pakistani military stated that their strikes caused extensive damage to Taliban infrastructure, including military posts, camps, headquarters, and support networks. Meanwhile, the Afghan Taliban claimed that their attacks killed 58 Pakistani soldiers while 9 of their own fighters were killed.
Following the incident, Saudi Arabia and Qatar urged both countries to exercise restraint and resolve tensions through diplomacy and dialogue. Saudi Arabia emphasized that maximum restraint is necessary to maintain regional security and stability, while Qatar also referred to Pakistan and Afghanistan as fraternal nations and pledged support for peaceful conflict resolution.
