Israeli forces have killed 60 more people in Gaza within 24 hours, from Thursday evening to Friday evening. At least 142 others were injured in the same strikes, according to a statement from Gaza’s Health Ministry on Friday night. The statement added that the actual number of casualties could be higher, as many bodies remain trapped under the rubble and the lack of rescue workers and equipment is hampering recovery efforts.
According to the ministry’s figures, as of Friday evening, the ongoing Israeli offensive over the past two years has killed 65,549 people and injured 167,518 in Gaza.
The statement further noted that since May 27, suspected Palestinians have also come under regular attack while collecting food and aid. On Friday alone, at least five people were killed and 33 injured while trying to receive relief.
It should be recalled that on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a surprise attack inside Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. In response, Israel began its military campaign in Gaza, which continues to this day. Israeli leaders have repeatedly declared that the assault will not end until Hamas is completely destroyed.
Meanwhile, the international community has sharply criticized Israel’s actions. The International Criminal Court (ICC), based in the Netherlands, has already issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Additionally, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is currently hearing a case accusing Israel of genocide.
