6 more deaths with measles symptoms; 1,316 infected

  • Six more people have died of measles in the country in the last twenty-four hours. This year, there have been 100 confirmed cases of measles and 936 with measles symptoms.
    In all, the number of deaths from measles and symptoms has stood at one thousand 36 people.

    This information was given in the regular health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday (September 15th). Four people died of measles in Dhaka only in the next 24 hours from 8am on Monday. At the same time, new patients have been admitted to different hospitals in the country with measles and its symptoms.

    According to the department, in the last 24 hours, 484 people have been admitted to Dhaka division, 30 in Rajshahi, 197 in Sylhet, 281 in Chittagong, 125 in Barisal, 82 in Mymensingh, 92 in Khulna and Rangpur.

    According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 1 lakh 53 thousand 279 patients have been admitted to different hospitals in the country since March 15 this year. Of these, 47 thousand people have been discharged from the hospital.

    At the same time, the number of suspected measles patients in the country stood at 1 lakh 73 thousand 959 people. Twenty thousand measles have been confirmed in the bodies of 201 people.
