The National Citizens Party (NCP) has announced its mayoral candidates for the Dhaka South and North City Corporation elections.
Nasiruddin Patwari has been named the party’s mayoral candidate for the South City Corporation and Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan for the North City Corporation.
The announcement was made by party convener and opposition chief whip Nahid Islam at a meeting with potential councilor candidates from various wards of Dhaka South and North City Corporations at the NCP office on Sunday (September 13) afternoon.
At the meeting, Nahid Islam gave instructions on searching for potential councilor candidates, identifying ward-based civic issues, and maintaining round-the-clock contact with the families of the martyrs and injured in July. At the same time, he ordered strict monitoring of the subversive activities of fallen and fugitive Awami League members.
The meeting was attended by two mayoral candidates supported by the NCP, Nasiruddin Patwari and Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan. In addition, NCP Dhaka Metropolitan North convener and party senior joint convener Ariful Islam Adeeb, Dhaka Metropolitan South convener Ishaq Sarkar and leaders from various levels of the North and South metropolitan areas were present.
