The government has transferred and appointed seventeen police officers, including two DIGs, to different units and posts. In the new order, one DIG has been appointed as the Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RPMP) and the other as the Additional Director General of RAB.
On Monday (August 25th), three separate notifications were issued from the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Deputy secretary Tousif Ahmed signed the order. The orders issued in the public interest will come into effect immediately.
According to the notification, DIG Mahbubur Rashid of the Special Branch (SB) of the police has been made the Commissioner of Police of Rangpur Metropolitan Police. On the other hand, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) DIG Md. Humayun Kabir has been appointed as the additional director general of RAB.
In addition, additional DIG Md. Humayun Kabir is in the police department and additional DIG Md. Tofail Ahmed Mia has been transferred as the joint police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Supernumerary additional DIG Mohammad Nazmul Alam is the deputy police commissioner of DMP and superintendent of police Md. Zafar Hossain has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
PBI Superintendent of Police Md. Abul Kalam Azad has been made the commandant of Gazipur In-Service Training Centre and SM Sirajul Huda as the commandant of the Jhenaidah In-Service Training Centre.
Superintendent of Police. Shahadat Hossain, MKH Jahangir Hossain and Md. Abdur Rahman has been transferred to the PBI. At the same time, the previous transfer order of MKH Jahangir Hossain as the deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police has been cancelled.
Besides, SM Rafiqul Islam is the superintendent of police of APBN, Muhammad Khaled-Uz-Zaman as the superintendent of CID and deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Md. Reazul Kabir has been attached to the office of Rangpur Range DIG.
Superintendent of Police Md. Aslam Uddin has been changed. Additional superintendent of police Mohammad Nurul Amin and additional superintendent of police Md. Rezaul Karim has been attached to APBN and specialized training centre, Khagrachhari.
The cancellation of the previous order
In addition to the new designation, the home ministry has also cancelled the previous transfer order of some officials. Meanwhile, Mohammad Kamruzzaman has been transferred to the police department as additional DIG and Mallik Ahsan Uddin Sami as superintendent of police.
Through the new notification, responsibilities have been rearranged in various important units of the police. Several officials of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, RAB, DMP, PBI, CID and APBN have been given new duties.
