The number of measles in the country is still at a critical level. Four more children have died of measles in the last twenty-four hours. At the same time, there were no confirmed cases of measles.
This information was given in the updated measles situation report published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
According to the report, measles were confirmed by testing in the country from 8am to 8am on Saturday. At the same time, 699 more measles symptoms have been identified, which indicates the spread of the disease.
Three of the four children who died in the last 24 hours were from Sylhet division and one from Dhaka division. According to the health directorate, the cause of their death was the cause of the measles, but there was no evidence of certain infection.
A total of 689 people have died of measles in the country since March 15 this year. Ninety-five people died of measles in the test. As a result, the total number of deaths from measles and measles has reached 784.
Meanwhile, the number of suspected measles patients across the country has increased by 1 lakh to 1 lakh 710 people. Of these, 14 thousand 318 people were confirmed in the test.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 92 thousand 249 people have been admitted to hospital with symptoms of measles in the last four months. Ninety-five thousand of them were discharged from the hospital. The rest of the patients are being treated at different hospitals.
Health experts say the risk of infection and death can increase if children are not able to participate in regular vaccination programs and not quickly identify the infected and brought under treatment. Therefore, the health department has urged parents to consult their children immediately if they show fever, rash or other symptoms.
